Film morning: „Suffragette“

In the early 20th century, the struggle for women to get the right to vote was still dismissed by politicians and the press. By 1912, the suffragettes turned away from peaceful protest and became militant. In turn, they received rough treatment, including imprisonment, force-feeding and the creation of the „Cat and Mouse Act“. Sarah Gavron’s 2015 film is „written, shot and acted with a hot-blooded urgency“.

Hinweis There will be an introduction to the film before the start of the screening (screened in English with English subtitles) and a post film discussion.
